Gather your materials.
To make cannabis tea, you will need:
-1 gram of finely ground cannabis
-8 ounces of water
-A saucepan
-A teabag or strainser
-Milk or cream (optional)
-Honey or sugar (optional)
Decarboxylate your cannabis.
In order to make the most potent tea possible, you will need to decarboxylate, or “decarb,” your cannabis first. This process will activate the THC in your weed so that it is more bioavailable when ingested. To decarb your cannabis, simply spread it out on an oven-safe tray and bake it in a preheated 225°F oven for about 40 minutes. Once your weed is finished decarbing, let it cool before grinding it into a fine powder using a coffee grinder or food processor.
Infuse your tea leaves.
To make your tea, you will need to infuse your tea leaves with cannabis. The most common way to do this is by using a cannabis-infused butter or oil. You can also use tinctures, distillates, or isolates. If you are using a cannabis-infused product, start by adding 1 teaspoon of it to your teapot. If you are using tinctures, add 1-2 drops per cup of tea. If you are using isolate powder, add 1/4-1/2 teaspoon per cup. You can always add more later if you want a stronger dose. Allow the tea leaves to steep for 3-5 minutes before removing them.
Strain the tea.
Pour the tea through a cheesecloth-lined strainer into another pot or heatproof container. Be sure to squeeze the cheesecloth to get all of the liquid out. You can also use a coffee filter, but it will take longer.
