Gather your supplies before you begin. You will need 2 cups of honey, 1 cup of water, 1 gram of hash or kief, a saucepan, a wooden spoon, and a mason jar or other storage container.
Make a tincture
You’ll want to start by making a tincture, which is an alcohol-based extract of the cannabis plant. You can use any type of alcohol, but grain alcohol or everclear is going to work best. You’ll also need a mason jar, some cheesecloth, and a strainer.
Start by grinding up your cannabis material as finely as possible. You can use a coffee grinder, or even just chop it up with a knife. Once it’s ground up, put it in the mason jar and add enough alcohol to cover the plant matter. seal the jar tightly and give it a good shake, then let it sit for about two weeks in a cool, dark place.
After two weeks have passed, open up the jar and strain the liquid into another container using the cheesecloth and strainer. Squeeze the cheesecloth to get all of the liquid out. You should now have a greenish-brown tincture that contains all of the cannabinoids from the cannabis plant.
Add the tincture to the honey
Slowly pour the tincture into the honey while stirring. It’s important to go slowly so that you don’t end up with clumps of tincture in the honey. Once all of the tincture is added, stir until it is completely mixed in.
Enjoy your cannabis honey!
Your cannabis honey is now ready to enjoy! You can use it just like you would any other honey – add it to your tea or coffee, drizzle it on top of toast or oatmeal, or use it in baking. Be sure to label your honey clearly so that everyone knows it contains cannabis. Start with a small amount and see how you feel before consuming more. Enjoy!
