Gather your materials
You’ll need a saucepan, a bowl, a whisk, a rubber spatula, a baking sheet, parchment paper, and a double boiler. For the chocolate, you’ll need either unsweetened chocolate discs or unsweetened chocolate chips. You’ll also need cannabutter and a liquid sweetener like honey, agave nectar, or simple syrup.
Chocolate
In order to make your own cannabis-infused chocolate, you will need the following materials:
-1/2 pound of chocolate (semisweet, milk, or dark chocolate all work well)
-1/4 cup of coconut oil
-1 gram of ground cannabis
-A double boiler
-Candy molds or objects to shape your chocolate (optional)
Cannabis
In order to make cannabis-infused chocolate, you will need the following materials:
-1 ounce (28 grams) of high-quality chocolate, finely chopped
-1/8 teaspoon (0.625 ml) of pure cannabis extract or 1/8 teaspoon (0.625 ml) of decarboxylated Cannabis sativa L. trim
-Double boiler or saucepan and bowl combo
-1 ounce (28 grams) of moldable chocolate, such as CannaButter or cocoa butter
-Spatula
Optional materials:
-Candy molds
-Piping bag or plastic bag with corner snipped off
Prepare the Chocolate
You will need to begin by melting the chocolate. You can do this by breaking the chocolate into small pieces and placing it in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave the chocolate in 30 second intervals, stirring in between, until the chocolate is completely melted.
Melt the chocolate
The first step to making weed chocolate is to melt the chocolate. You can use a double boiler or a microwave to do this. If you are using a microwave, heat the chocolate in 30 second intervals, stirring in between each interval, until the chocolate is completely melted. If you are using a double boiler, place the chocolate in the top part of the boiler and heat it over simmering water until it is melted.
Add the cannabis
Pour the chocolate chips and the cannabis into the bowl. Stir until the cannabis is evenly mixed in with the chocolate. If you want a stronger chocolate, you can add more cannabis.
Infuse the Chocolate
You will need some quality chocolate, cannabis oil and a double boiler. If you don’t have a double boiler, you can fashion one out of a pot and a heat-safe bowl that fits snugly inside the pot. Break the chocolate into pieces and add it to the bowl. Pour in the cannabis oil.
Let it cool
Once it has melted, take the chocolate off of the heat and let it cool for a minute or two. You don’t want to add your cannabis just yet, as you don’t want to cook off any of the THC.
Enjoy!
Now that you have your cannabis-infused chocolate, it’s time to enjoy! You can eat it as is, use it in recipes, or even give it as a gift. However you choose to enjoy your chocolate, be sure to start with a small amount and wait at least an hour before consuming more. Cannabis-infused edibles can take up to 2 hours to take effect, so it’s important to be patient. Don’t let the delayed effect of edibles deter you from enjoying them – the slow onset simply means the effects will last longer. So sit back, relax, and enjoy your delicious cannabis-infused chocolate!
