Gather your supplies

You will need:
-1 cup of honey
-¼ ounce of cannabis
-Cheesecloth
-Slow cooker or saucepan
-Glass jar with lid

Step 1: Decarboxylate your cannabis. This is an important step to ensure that your honey will be potent. Preheat your oven to 245 degrees Fahrenheit and spread your cannabis on a baking sheet. Bake for 30-40 minutes, stirring a couple of times throughout. Once finished, remove from oven and let cool.

Step 2: Grind your decarboxylated cannabis using a grinder, coffee grinder, or food processor. You want the end result to be a fine powder.

Step 3: Place the honey and cannabis powder in your slow cooker or saucepan. If using a slow cooker, set it to low and let the mixture infuse for 6 hours, stirring occasionally. If using a saucepan, heat over low heat for 3 hours, stirring occasionally. Do not let the mixture come to a boil.

Step 4: After the infusion time is up, strain the mixture through cheesecloth into a clean glass jar. Be sure to squeeze all of the liquid out of the cheesecloth so you don’t lose any of the precious honey! Store in a cool, dark place and enjoy as desired!

Decarboxylate your cannabis

Before cooking with cannabis, it’s important to decarboxylate, or activate, the THC. If you don’t decarboxylate your cannabis, you won’t feel the psychoactive effects of the THC and your honey will have little to no THC.

To decarboxylate cannabis, preheat your oven to 240°F (115°C). Spread your ground cannabis evenly on a baking sheet and bake for 40 minutes. Let the cannabis cool before using it in your recipe.

Infuse your honey

There are several methods for infusing honey with cannabis, but the most common is the `hot infusion` method. This involves heating your honey and cannabis together in order to extract the THC into the honey. The main disadvantage of this method is that some of the THC can be lost in the process of heating, but it is still an effective way to infuse your honey.

-Start by heating your honey in a pot on the stove. You want to heat it until it is just starting to simmer, not boiling.
-Add your ground cannabis to the pot and stir well.
-Let the mixture simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
-After 30 minutes, remove the pot from the heat and let it cool.
-Once it is cooled, strain out the cannabis using a cheesecloth or coffee filter.
-Pour your infused honey into a clean jar and enjoy!

Strain the plant material

Once the honey and cannabis have been mixed together, you will need to strain out the plant material. You can use a cheesecloth or coffee filter to do this. Place the cheesecloth over a bowl and pour the mixture through it. The honey will filters through, and the plant material will be left behind.

Store your honey

Once you have made your cannabis infused honey, it is important to store it properly to maintain freshness and potency. Store your honey in an airtight container in a cool, dark place. opened containers of cannabis honey should be used within six months, while unopened containers can be stored for up to a year.
