How to Make Cannabis Tincture with Concentrate

You don’t need to be a master chef to make a quality cannabis tincture . In fact, all you need is some quality concentrate and a few simple kitchen supplies.

Decarboxylate your concentrate

In order to decarboxylate your concentrate, you will need to heat it in an oven-safe dish at 220 degrees Fahrenheit for 25 to 30 minutes. This process will activate the THC in your concentrate so that it is more bioavailable and effective when ingested.

After decarbing, let your concentrate cool before adding it to your tincture. Once it is cooled, add your concentrate to a mason jar filled with high-proof alcohol. The ratio of concentrate to alcohol should be 1:5, meaning for every gram of concentrate, you will add five milliliters of alcohol.

Seal the jar tightly and store it in a cool, dark place for two weeks, shaking the jar daily to help disperse the cannabinoids throughout the alcohol.

After two weeks have passed, strain the mixture through a coffee filter or cheesecloth into a clean jar or bottle. Your tincture is now ready to use!

Combine your concentrate and alcohol in a mason jar

In this method, you’ll be using a cannabis concentrate and combining it with alcohol to make your tincture. The advantage of using a concentrate is that it will generally contain a higher concentration of THC than regular cannabis flower, so you’ll need to use less of it to get the same effect.

The first step is to combine your concentrate and alcohol in a mason jar. Use a ratio of one gram of concentrate for every milliliter of alcohol. For example, if you’re using one ounce (28 grams) of concentrate, you’ll need 28 milliliters of alcohol. If you’re using metric measurements, one gram of concentrate will require one milliliter of alcohol.

Once you’ve combined the concentrate and alcohol in the jar, seal it tightly and shake it vigorously for several minutes. This will ensure that the THC is properly extracted from the concentrate and into the alcohol.

Next, place the jar in a dark place at room temperature and let it sit for at least 48 hours. Be sure to check on it periodically and give it a shake if possible.

After 48 hours have passed, carefully strain the liquid into another container using a coffee filter or cheesecloth. Be sure to squeeze all the liquid out of the filter or cheesecloth to get all the tincture out.

Your cannabis tincture is now ready to use! Store it in a dark place at room temperature and use as needed.

Let the mixture sit for at least 2 weeks, shaking it every few days

Cannabis concentrate can be quite potent, so it’s important to start with a very small amount, especially if you’re new to using cannabis. Remember that you can always add more, but you can’t take it away once it’s been added. In general, a good rule of thumb is to start with 1 gram of concentrate for every 8 ounces (237 ml) of liquid.

If you don’t have a scale that measures in grams, you can also use 1/2 ounce (14 grams) of concentrate for every 8 ounces (237 ml) of liquid. Once you’ve decided how much concentrate to use, mix it into the alcohol until it is completely dissolved.

Let the mixture sit for at least 2 weeks, shaking it every few days. This will give the alcohol time to fully extract the cannabinoids from the concentrate. After 2 weeks, taste the tincture and decide if you want to let it steep for longer or if it’s ready to use.

Filter the mixture using a coffee filter or cheesecloth

Pour the mixture through a coffee filter or cheesecloth to strain out the plant material. If using a coffee filter, you may need to do this in batches. If using cheesecloth, gather it up and squeeze it to get all of the tincture out.

Store your tincture in a dark glass bottle

To make a cannabis tincture, you will need:
-1 gram of cannabis concentrate
-1-2 cups of high proof alcohol (such as Everclear)
-A dark glass bottle with a lid
-A coffee filter or cheesecloth
-A funnel

Instructions:
1. Decarboxylate your cannabis concentrate by heating it in an oven at 220 degrees Fahrenheit for 30 minutes.
2. Grind your decarboxylated concentrate into a fine powder using a coffee grinder.
3. Place your ground concentrate into the dark glass bottle.
4. Pour alcohol over the concentrate until it is completely covered.
5. Screw on the lid and shake the mixture vigorously for 1 minute.
6. Store your mixture in a cool, dark place for 2-3 weeks, shaking it once per day.
7. After 2-3 weeks, use the funnel to strain the liquid into another dark glass bottle using the coffee filter or cheesecloth to catch any solid bits of plant material.
8. Store your finished tincture in a cool, dark place and use as needed!
