Decarboxylate your cannabis
Decarboxylation is a process of heating your cannabis at a specific temperature for a specific amount of time, thereby activating the compounds in the plant material and making them available for your body to use.
Preheat oven to 240 degrees F
Decarboxylation is the process of gently heating your cannabis to activate the THC. While cannabis that hasn’t been decarbed won’t get you high, it will still have all the other positive effects of cannabis such as reducing anxiety or pain relief. By decarbing your cannabis, you are making it much more potent and effective.
The best way to decarb your weed is in an oven. If you have an oven that goes down to 240°F, preheat it now. If not, set it to the highest temperature it will go. Place your ground up cannabis on a baking sheet and put it in the oven. Set a timer for 30-40 minutes and let your weed bake.
Place cannabis on baking sheet
Preheat oven to 245°F (120°C). Break cannabis up into small flakes and spread evenly on baking sheet. Bake for 40-60 minutes, stirring every 20 minutes. The amount of time you need to decarboxylate your cannabis will depend on the amount, oven temperature and how finely ground your material is. When finished, the cannabis should be brown in color and smell fragrant.

If you want to make cannabis vape oil, you need to decarboxylate your weed first. This process will make the THC more potent and effective.
To decarboxylate cannabis, all you need to do is bake it in the oven. Preheat your oven to 245 degrees Fahrenheit, then spread your ground cannabis on a baking sheet and bake it for 30-40 minutes. Once it’s done, remove it from the oven and let it cool before using it to make vape oil.

For this method, you will want to use 28 grams (1 ounce) of cannabis.Once your cannabis is in the jar, add your chosen solvent. Again, there are many options to choose from and each has its own benefits and drawbacks that we will cover in more detail later on. For now, we will be using isopropyl alcohol as our solvent.
Once you have added your solvent, seal the jar tightly and give it a good shake. Be sure to label your jar with the date and contents so that you can keep track of it later on.Now let the mixture sit for 24 hours, shaking it occasionally to help break up any big pieces of plant matter. After 24 hours have passed, strain the mixture through a coffee filter or cheesecloth into another container. This will remove any solids that are left behind.
Finally, place your container in a hot water bath and allow it to simmer until all of the alcohol has evaporated off. This process is called evaporation and it leaves behind only the resin glands which contain THC, CBD, and other cannabinoids. Be sure to keep an eye on things as the last thing you want is for your mixture to boil off!Once all of the alcohol has been evaporated, you are left with a golden liquid that contains a high concentration of cannabinoids. Congratulations, you have just made cannabis vape oil!

If you want to further purify your oil, repeat this process with fresh alcohol.
